Trivium Oklahoma reviews
Trivium was forgetable...
I've been detached from Trivium lately, their 3rd Roadrunner effort kind of turned me off from them, while their last disc gave me a little hope, after seeing this set, not so much anymore. The show opened with After The Burial, a Djent/Tech band. They were pretty good, had great energy. DevilDriver co headlined and played a pretty decent set. I've never gotten in to them but I can't say I wasn't dissapointed. My only gripe was Dez' vocals sounded far different, more singing, from the last time I saw them, in 2006. The big bummer for this set was when the kid dislocated his foot which shut the show down for 20 minutes. The House of Blues staff did nothing to help the concert attendee off the floor, so the band decided to stop playing while that got cleared up. It looked as if attendees who were off duty EMT's did more to help. Shame on the House of Blues for this. Trivium came up, this was my 4th time seeing them, and honestly it's been downhill since the last few times I saw them. I'm not super sold on the new stuff, and I wasn't expecting them to play much of all off the first 3 albums, and I was right in thinking that. They didn't play anything off the first album, 2 off Ascendancy and one off the Crusade. The rest of the set was unrecognizable, maybe In Waves and Watch the world burn, other than that, I wonder why I stuck around.
